Sneak Peek

Is everyone as curious as I am when it comes to where people keep their craft items? Call it nosy, if you will, but the first thing I think of is how and where people keep all their 'stuff'. Of course, I think it's only fair if I share mine! Now, if you are a yarn snob you might not be pleased with what's in my baskets! Even though I've been knitting and crocheting for about 14 years, my world didn't open up to the real stuff until about two years ago-due to reading lovely blogs.

So help me empty my baskets! Help me get these projects on a roll and use UP all that I have. There are many more places with various yarns, but this is a good start.

My first basket has my crochet thread.

Various acrylic yarn to be used for various planned rugs, pillows, a little purse for my Great Niece, & socks!

Meanwhile, have A great weekend ...Nugget will!

Summer Memories

Yosemite Valley!  The day was so blue and clear..

  Yosemite Valley is the most popular area of the park, however, the Tuolumne Meadows along the Tioga Road in the northern region is less populated. This portion of the High Sierra has a boreal climate. I have to say, that was the favorite area of mine. To see the glacier sculpted rocks, shiny and smoothed by years of ice, was such a treat. The rounded rocks left on the high meadow floor like marbles left behind by a giant .

wonder what people think seeing me rush out to photograph 'crows' ? Some how, I can't get the movie out of my head about a woman that bends backwards and views the reflection of a crow in the water! Wonder if anyone remembers the name of that movie?

Commuters of a Different Kind

After moving to San Diego two years ago I began to notice something odd....every morning around 6:30 a group of crows, from nearby trees, would fly north every morning! Then, around 7pm, the crows would come back- flying from the north.....I assumed this was the same group.  Well, after about a year, I moved up in a northern part of the city, and I couldn't believe it,  a group of crows would be flying by...still going north just at a later time!   Again, in the evening, I would see the crows flying 'south' ---I'm assuming flying to the trees behind my former house!   At this point, I'm wondering if I'm the only one that actually takes the time to watch this event take place daily?  Now if you are wondering how many crows I'm talking about let me just say one evening sitting on my back patio I counted.....forty-two!  Recently, I was sitting with my son just before he was to leave for school and I heard the crows making up a huge racket in canyon trees behind us.  With pressure from C from http://catena.typepad.com/catena_expressions/, I finally, like a mad-woman ran outside and took some pictures of CROWS!!   Moments later some were on my roof! Of course running out the second time scared them, but I did try to get some that were in the tree next to my house. Where do they go?...I guess if I just keep moving north I would find out!    Maybe someone on their northern commute could get off their cell phone long enough to notice where they go??

Speaking of "Catena Expressions" - a HUGE THANK YOU!!! She made it possible for me to dip my toe into the world of blogging....not only that, she PUSHED ME IN!!!  The water is feeling warmer.. as I frantically swim to the surface...
