Fabulous Friday

I think I have five things going at once....enjoying the sky we had this morning was one of them!

So there you have it -East to West! We usually have 'gloom' or clear skies...rarely are there cloud displayed like this. If you look closely at the bottom of the third picture, you can see the grayish fog lifting. The sky was moving fast as this 'cold front' is coming through and the fluffy cloud under was standing still as the other flew by....and then the baby blue color...    Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

As I clean house, do laundry, I have my many 'piles' of book and mags on the couch - my goal is not to put them all back on my coffee tables!!!!

Some how, I don't think Nugget thinks it's going to stay CLEAR!

We will see! As I progress through this morning...I have my vanilla candles lit..enjoy!

Lost in the Woods

As I posted before I was having puckering, so I pulled out the last round which didn't count correctly after looking at it again! I recounted and everything looks great at this point. I think what 'tripped' me up was what to do with the ch. 14 lp and then the ch 9 over the ch. 14 area in the upcoming round and how it relates to the clusters which will come into play for next few rounds! (as pictured with a pin)

The next picture shows that I'm just beginning the cluster rows. Here is the round that I messed up on:

Rnd 8: Ch 4, tr in next tr,*ch2, 5trin next ch-2 sp, ch3: * (yo) 3 times, insert hook in next tr and draw up a lp, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) 3times*, rep from * to * 4 times more, yo and draw through all 6 lps on hook--5-dtr cluster made: work 2 sc over both ch-14 of Row 6 and ch-9 of Row 7, work 5-dtr cluster over next 5 tr, ch 3, 5 tr in next ch2 sp, ch2 **, tr in next 2 tr. Rep from * around, end at **. Join.

I will note that C will be happy to know that I'm trying again on this. As always, I welcome her expertise on this!!!

Creative Day

It's all C's fault! Here's the view from my little oasis. It's actually kind of nice- feels like I'm on an  island floating along with the canyon full of fog. It really should be a creative day, but my head hurts.  I'm just waiting for the explosion of my projects so I can have something to show! You'll see...please be patient with me.

Meanwhile, as usual, Nugget feels it's a good day to find another wall to put her feet up on!

Great Time

..but bad pictures! I learned my digital has a slow shutter or button speed for the speedy Blue Angels!  We had a wonderful time, of course, after the hour it took for the four miles from our house! First I'll share this one.. each of the planes  would put out red, white, & blue smoke

This is was cute little item at the 'air' show!

The last one being the Blue Angels with Fat Albert leading the way....I will spare you the ones of the smoke trails with only the wing at the very corner of the picture! After awhile I just put my camera away and enjoyed the rest of the show! We were thankful the weather help out as it is rainy today.

Meanwhile, Nugget is just enjoying her Sunday as she usually does!

Puckering on Friday

As promised, I must remain accountable. Although my week took a turn with a few interviews (for very part-time work) from resumes from THREE weeks ago, I still managed to get a few things going.

First, the puckering problem -I think after this last round, that took me awhile to complete, I think I will have to pull it out. URG!  I've gone back in the pattern and tried to find the problem, but everything counts correctly. SO I'm puzzled.

A recycling idea for bread ties:   Lightly tie one on the loop so you don't have to worry if it comes off the hook, it won't matter...

Another interesting thing I did was pound petunia flowers!One while watering them, I noticed the 'fresh' old ones that came off easily would sometimes stain the concrete if it was rubbed. I thought to do this-  an idea for staining card stock for journal art or cards...

  Lay a piece of plastic wrap over them so they don't stick to the spoon. It is a little messy and scraping off the bits of flower would leave streaks on the card stock. Then finally the card paper drying.

I'll let you know what I do with them later!

Finally, the 'orange' thing....I'm always intriqued with color. I can study it for hours and you can even find me 'reading' color /painting color guides...this one is perfect for that: Color Index it also has wonderful browser safe color combo section for the hex colors.

Anyway, I also find myself in paint department collecting cards! They also make great book marks! So here is my orange study at the moment. This of course leads me to finding the true colors my camara can capture at which setting.  You can see how my mind works and how it's hard sometimes to focus on just one thing!

Deadly Quake

Oh, my...my heart goes out to familys in the quake area...just devastation. It's hard to see, time after time, the amount of tragic family loss across the world (including our own)...

Then I see this on my home page-  Looting Breaks Out   Amazing...no matter our culture..no matter our beliefs...the human condition on this place we call Earth.   'Our' reactions are all the same! 

This is IT!

Today I had a wonderful morning shopping experience...at my less than favorite store named "Wal Mart" -I only like going there if it's early in the morning and no one is in there! For my favorite store "Target", doesn't have craft stuff.... Anyway, at 8:15 in the morning it is a nice place to be - quiet in my creative thoughts...BUT...yes, there is a BUT....   THIS IS IT!   I've got to get moving on some of my creative endeavors, so having said that, I'm not posting until next Thursday or Friday...other than personal e-mails...no more computer escapadesfor me until I have something to SHOW!!!   I've got the blog set up and feeling confortable concerning how to get around it... also some other personal projects are out of the way and it is time to CREATE!!!

I've always wanted a Care Bear when I was a child, and for some reason I never got one :(you know childhood neglect or something...just kidding...great childhood up there in the CO mountains-just one of those things that has stayed with me...and by golly I'M MAKING MYSELF ONE!!  From the picture I bet you can guess which one...  it's going to be slightly different in sport weight yarn and slightly different design on his belly, but it will be interesting to see how MINE turns out ..it's going to be special...just for me!  I couldn't resist a beautiful quilters magazine...still my first love. I'm on a break from that journey, but still check in once in awhile.  One of my favorite bloggers,Too Much Wool, really said it well...

Let's see, what else do I have?  OH, I've been wanting to crochet (yes, with that cheesy Fake Fur by Lion's Brand) two little purses for my two Great Nieces (both under 3!) Also,there is 'Peaches & Cream' for a couple of wash clothes.  I found some ink dip tips in a size I don't believe I have!  I want to use them in a art journal that I'm doing with a Belgium friend! Lastly, flowers....need to add to my pots out front.  It's cooling down a bit and my other petunias are liking that!   There are a few books that are not in the picture, but we are not even going THERE!!!
