Sorry I've been away for a few days...the days are escaping me. Of course, looking at the calendar I realized what I really need to get done!
BUT FIRST- I have to share something that a dear friend sent to me for my birthday- SHE HAND-PAINTED IT! It's absolutely beautiful! I hope the picture can capture the sparkle on the little sugar cubes! Hand made things mean so much to me...THANK YOU, T!!!!!!!!
I'm a person that doesn't really get into the Christmas spirit until the week of...one thing I do love are Christmas tree ornaments. I love to see how others decorate theirs...I'm so happy when the blogs I read share their tree, so I will do the same!
Now a little story about our tree....it's 'fake'...shhhh don't tell the tree! Being from Colorado and absolutely never having a fake tree- much less buying one! Always one that had been carefully picked out from the property and, as a family, cut down carefully to be pulled across snow to it's new home. That tree would be carefully preserved with daily water and enjoyed well into January. Of course years later and a greater part of our marriage we would BUY a live tree...of course the one we wanted would go up in price every year and depending where we lived quite pricey....so we did the unthinkable....bought a -can't even say it- pretty tree that would give us joy year after year!...and it has! I lost the 'snow' skirt for some reason and I have a great quilt pattern, but it's just a little late for me. Next year! I'll be looking for after Christmas sales on Christmas fabric :)
These are some of my ornaments I received as a child growing up...I just love them, they have so much personality...The Pooh in a real egg is my most cherished one..the needlepoint bears was my first needlepoint project ever, the other wood ornament have just the cutest expressions ... Nugget was really wondering why I was taking so many pictures of her! HA- so I just had to include her...
She gave up and is waiting for Santa! ....shhhh..don't tell her, but she is getting a tennis ball 'flinger' and a nice bone!
Paula, I love your Christmas tree! The ornaments are just lovely, too. The painted gift is lovely!
Nugget is adorable, her look is so pure and friendly!
