If ever you are in San Diego, Balboa Park is a must. The inside secret is every Tuesday different museums are free. (there are about 10 museums!) So, yesterday T and I went to explore the east part of the Park. N had a babysitting job to do for the past three days, so it was just me and my son. I think there was a silent memo that had gone out because we saw MANY mom and son combos...where did all the girls go? At almost 10 he is still enjoying exploring museums and I was able to take about 50 pictures. I'm finally on-board with my Flickr account, so on the right side you will be able to see the beautiful pictures from Balboa Park. It was a gorgeous day!
Now, to something a little different...I ran across something that made me laugh called, "Knits & Grits" so I must show mine! After spending about 30 minutes trying to look for the links and coming up empty handed...I've realized some of my bloglines need to be updated with their new blog addresses! Anyway, when I get them I will share! Having lived in the south for 8 years...we loved the southern food...and the fact is my DH, being from Georgia, would never buy anything but the REAL grits...it's against some unwritten law- to have those fake ones!
Normally, for us- grits are for our camping times, but sadly since being 'out here' we have only taken one trip with it! We very much miss our mini getaways in FL to one of three state parks within 5 miles of each other for only $12 a night or so. Things are ridiculous out here....even if you went to the KOA it would be $50..no kidding! Normal sites here that are primitive (no water or elec.) are even $20.... RIP OFF! plus it's MANY miles away and can't have fires in pits-has to be a grill...that just ruins cooking over the fire. Not only cooking, but the mesmerizing ambiance that is enjoyed at night.
Yes, that is my bag that I am to felt sometime in this century! The green is the beginning of the side around...it is a 'canteen' shaped bag.
Snail Spirals has a wonderful micro crochet project she is working on- take a look!Yarnduck has just finished a beautiful afghan!
Hope you enjoy my Flickr pictures and have a great week!
OH I so love my grits. In fact I think I'll ask my husband to make them for me this weekend. My mom grew up in the South, so grits were part of our breakfasts at least once a week growing up, even though I grew up in Iowa. Not exactly grit heaven.
