I'll admit, I've avoided blogging because I'm just plain hot. Routinely it's been 86-90 degrees inside my home- I have no air. I know I'm not alone with this heat and I felt for all the people with the power outages. Lastly, I try to think of our troops in Iraq. I have nothing to complain about. From shopping to pool to beach to finding reasons to drive around in a AC blazer...you can only do so much. I've accomplished absolutely nothing in regards to crafts or reading. It's almost a blank...no memory of what I really have done. The heat does this to your brain cells. -end of complaining-
What I have done a good job of is exercising...I get into my gym (ie. garage) before it gets too hot in there. Food is another thing though....twice there were visits to DQ for Blizzards...favorite? French Silk or Mud Pie. What is yours?
I want to share with you from my Choose to Move program theme for the week.- "Finding Community Resources"
Hopefully some of these will aid you in finding trails nearby....they will here when the temps are back down to normal. I also want to add terraserver.microsoft.com which gives you a satellite view of trail that might not be clearly on generic paper maps. Today I was also playing with Wikisatellite! I really like seeing the view of the oceans with this site.
A few people asked about my "o" for the Obelisk....did you know there are only thirty of them in the world? There is some wonderful information at this site. I don't know why I'm intrigued by them..perhaps its the geometry of them. Specifically looking at our own Washington Monument! Okay, my geeky side comes out...this is great nighttime reading for me!
I just recently enjoyed a rented movie in front of a fan set directly on me....if dare some one crosses my 'fan line'.....like I said this heat does something to the brain cells. Oh, the movie....it was called Between Strangers ('01). Somewhat dry movie for some, but for me I enjoy movies with those 6 degrees of separation type stuff...themes that came to my mind where how people live for others expectations while entangled with fate.
Finally, a wonderful comment left me with this!!!! More green! Thank you...now I have the hex color, too ;)
My DD at her 8th grade promotion....High School here we come!!!!
PJ,
YOu do know about gmaps-pedometer don't you? I love this api!! Rehabbing Katy, I can tell her surgeon tomorrow that she's walking 1/2 mile/day with a 80' change in elevation both ways.
